Orlando Sports Foundation, "Bowl For A Cure."
(March, 2009) Elgin joined the campaign by the Orlando Sports Foundation to bring an NCAA Division I Football Bowl Game to the University of Central Florida. The Foundation, formed in 2008 by a group of business and community leaders, is hoping to host a Bowl Game at Bright House Networks Stadium. Elgin spoke on behalf of the campaign at an event on the UCF campus, talking about the importance of the cause for the UCF community and Orlando.
The purpose of the "Bowl for a Cure" would be to raise funds to support local breaast cancer charities and increase awareness of the disease and its impact. The organizers want to show the NCAA that this is a project with strong community support because of the thousands of families that are affected by breast cancer every year.
